Nick Estes, City Council Ward 3 Candidate

On November 7, you will vote for our City Council members. I am a candidate running for the Ward 3 seat on the City Council against the incumbent, John Rust.

Over the next several months, I'm here to listen and learn. I believe that I can help build upon a foundation of growth, but want to understand how you want to see our city grow.

I believe that I bring a unique perspective to the City Council.  My business experience and background have taught me to be a servant leader. This simply means that I listen and will find solutions that will help drive sustainable growth in our city.

My Vision for Canton is built on

The Potential for Sustainable Growth

As a Canton resident over the last 9 years and a business owner in the historic downtown area, I have been proud to call Canton my home.  Our city balances the charm of North Georgia with the development and growth of the metro area.  I have been active in the community and most recently have been a member of the Steering Committee for the city’s Canton 2040: Comprehensive Plan.  Through this committee, I have had the opportunity to work with residents and community leaders to identify the key areas for growth, which include:

  • Continue the progression of the Canton Forward initiative
  • Look for opportunities to grow businesses across the city, not only focused on the historic downtown area
  • Realize the full potential of the river and trail systems
  • Understand the future infrastructure needs to help the city grow sustainably

While the current leadership of our Mayor and many members of the City Council is strong, I believe that I bring a unique perspective to the City Council based on my experience and background as a business leader and finance executive.

Endorsments from the community...

For the last 12 years my husband and  I have not only valued Nick’s friendship, but we have also been able to watch his passion for our city grow! Nick is intelligent, efficient, professional, but his character is one of his finest attributes. His financial background along and his willingness to weigh tough decisions fairly and professionally make it easy to give him our vote!
— Jennifer Puckett, Music Therapist & Business Owner
I truly value the leadership that Nick brings to the workplace.  He is methodical and analytical and listens to all points of view. I know that he will continue lead and listen on the City Council.
— Clint Barnett, Canton Resident
I’ve lived with my family in Canton for 10 years and have loved seeing it grow. I’m lucky enough to know Nick Estes as an active neighbor in our community. I believe his fresh perspective and energy, combined with his business experience and proven commitment to Canton’s growth as a small business owner, make him an ideal candidate for our city council. I look forward to the positive impact he can have on the continued growth of our amazing city.
